The Parish Council, Village Information Centre and Museum will be closing at midday on Christmas Eve.

The Village Information Centre and Museum at the Samuel Wickens Centre, Broadmark Lane Car Park will re-open on Saturday 3 January 2026. 

The Council Offices in Woodlands Avenue will re-open on Monday 5 January 2026.

Please note that the Play Area at the Woodlands Recreation Ground will be CLOSED on Christmas Day.

Please note that the Public Conveniences at the Woodlands Recreation Ground, Broadmark Lane and Churchill Court Car Park will be CLOSED on Christmas Day.

The Council will re-open at 9.00am on Friday 2 January 2026.

If you need to speak to someone in an emergency, please call the main line 01903 737 500, where you will hear the out-of-hours message, which will give you information on how to access the service you require.

Libraries have always been warm and welcoming places that everyone can visit free of charge with no questions asked. This winter they’re making an extra effort to support our communities, with books and factsheets to help support with the cost of living, essential toiletries kits, plus eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers which you can borrow for free.  The Library will be closed on the 25/26 December and 1 January.

  • Instead, a basic Pantry session will run on Tuesday 23rd December, 10:00–11:00am in the Church Hall
  • A normal Pantry will resume on Wednesday 31st December, 8:30–10:30am in the Church Hall, but please note there will be no coffee, tea or croissants in the main hall – just the Pantry only
