The Parish Council has secured grant funding via the Safer Arun Partnership to provide a new weekly Summer Holiday activity at the Woodlands Recreation Ground.
As a result of the funding, South Coast Skate Club will be running FREE skateboard lessons, weekly on Fridays, throughout the school holidays.
They will be working alongside local skate coaches, from the Littlehampton skateboard venue and skate cafe "Board AF", to provide the free lessons for ages 6 and upwards.
Under 6's can join in and skate but a parent/carer must act as their assistant and help give 1:1 support.
The weekly activity will run from 10.00am until 1.00pm each Friday and will be broken down into short blocks of time, on a first come first serviced basis.
The sessions will take place on the Basketball Court and are weather dependent.
All children that are under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult, and it is as a come and go as you wish event - children can stay as long or as little as they want. A waiver must be signed by an adult before skating for those aged 11-16 years. If a young person is over 16 years old they will be able to sign for themselves.
Sessions will be run in a relaxed jam style format, and if there is high demand on the day the sessions may be broken down into shorter time slots with allocated spaces, to ensure everyone gets a go.
